I am work at home mum who discovered that she knows more about appliances then people around her. This is why I decided to start Dishwasher reviews. Maybe there will be more review blogs in future :)

Indesit D63 Review2008-11-05
I recently purchased an Indesit D63 dishwasher, as my old dishwasher finally gave up the fight for life! The dishwasher arrived in a few days from QED-uk.com, and the service that I received was very good. The delivery arrived on time and the delivery-men even assisted me in moving my old machine to the front garden for removal.

As to the new Dishwasher itself, it replaced an older Indesit model so I was pretty au fait with the workings of the machine, the installation was simple enough, and it came with a few freebie cleaning tabs enabling me to get started straight away.

Using the machine is very straight forward, the rinse aid and cleaning tab compartments are both very accessible, and easy to use. My only whinge connected with installing the machine is that to load the salt into the container you do need to be a bit of a contortionist, once in place it would be quite difficult for a person of limited movement to refill the salt container. That said however my main complaint is the bottom tray, which in my opinion is totally useless.

My old model had a split tray; half has designed with metal prongs to hold plates vertically, and the second half kept clear and designed to hold pots/pans or any larger items. The new model trays have been redesigned to incorporate the entire lower tray to hold plates only, there is no spare room for larger items. If you do decide to try to wash your pans on the bottom shelf they need to be precariously balanced on the metal prongs intended to hold plates vertically. Stacking pans or larger objects in this way left several items scratched, and the washing performance at best satisfactory!

This is in my opinion the worst re-design that Indesit could have possibly introduced, to the extent that I saved my old tray, took off the new wheels and swapped the bottom tray from my old model, and am now very merrily using that again!

In brief, Indesit D63 would be perfect for someone who does not wash large pans or articles, but has lots of plates!
